• Protected plant species can be found here: rolling hen-and-chicks, monkshood, ivy, martagon lily, sweet woodruff, goat's beard, round-leaved sundew, dwarf periwinkle and giant horsetail; and animals: moose, Eurasian sparrowhawk, barn owl, common buzzard, northern lapwing, corn crake and European pond turtle.
• Rarities include martagon lily, Hungarian gentian, willow gentian, wolf's bane, mountain ragwort and various monkshoods.
• Both the adults and the larvae feed on the leaves, buds, stems and flowers of several plants, mainly Liliaceae, Alliaceae and Asparagaceae species, for instance Turk's cap lily (Lilium martagon), onion (Allium cepa), garlic (Allium sativum), Asparagus, Polygonum and Convallaria species.
• Protected plants include Adonis vernalis, Pulsatilla nigricans, Pulsatilla grandis, Anemone sylvestris, Lilium martagon, Stipa joannis, Jurinea mollis, Iris pumila, Dictamnus albus, Cornus mas, Prunus mahaleb, Fraxinus ornus, Chrysopogon gryllus, Vinca herbacea, Lathyrus pannonicus, Platanthera bifolia, Iris variegata, Himantoglossum adriaticum, Limodorum abortivum and Rhamnus saxatilis.
• Herbs: Edelweiss (Leontopodium alpinum), lady's slipper (Cypripedium calceolus), mountain bellflower (Campanula alpina), yellow monkshood (Aconitum anthora), belladonna (Atropa belladonna), ligularia (Ligularia sibirica), rustyback (Asplenium ceterach), yellow anemone (Anemone ranunculoides), globe-flower (Trollius europaeus), windflower (Anemone nemorosa), martagon (Lilium martagon), centaurea (Centaurea atropurpurea), daphne (Daphne mezereum).
• The major species found there are: polypod (Polypodium interjectum) – highly endangered C2 species, Martagon lily (Lilium martagon) – C4 species requiring attention, hairy brome (Bromus ramosus) – endangered C3 species, and the bright chervil (Anthriscus nitida).
• Among other rare plants, ornamental species such as martagon lily (Lilium martagon), harsh downy-rose (Rosa tomentosa), lesser butterfly-orchid (Platanthera bifolia), European columbine (Aquilegia vulgaris), common spotted-orchid (Dactylorhiza fuchsii) and heath spotted-orchid (Orchis maculata).
• These vast meadows are home to yellow gentian, knapweed, orchids, bluebells, wild pansy, potentilla, mountain arnica, brunelle, bedstraw, martagon lily and pulsatilla anemone.
