• Common birds include corella, galah, Australian king parrot, pale-headed rosella, rainbow and scaly-breasted lorikeet, sulphur-crested cockatoo, glossy black cockatoo, blue-faced and scarlet honeyeater, noisy miner, Indian mynah, masked lapwing, wood duck, whistling ducks, wedge-tailed eagle, osprey, blue fairy wren, red-backed fairywren, double-barred finch, common-bronzewing pigeon, crested pigeon, rainbow bee-eater, channel-billed cuckoo (summer), koel (summer).
• These in turn support native birdlife including kererū, tūī, shining cuckoo, fantail, bellbird, and pūkeko, as well as introduced bird species such as mynah, magpie, finch and sparrow.
• Peafowls, Ashy Prinia, Tawny flanked prinia, red-vented Bulbul, white browed Bulbul, oriental Magpie Robin, Bushchat, munia, mynah etc.
• Apart from water birds, other birdlife like black-rumped flameback, woodpecker, rose ringed parakeet, black drongo, paddyfield pipit, blue jay, golden oriole, common mynah, Eurasian hoopoe, Indian swiftlet, swallow, coppersmith barbet, Asian green bee-eater, blue-tailed bee-eater, Asian koel, Jacobin cuckoo, coucal and rufous treepie occur here.
